RAW SUPERFOOD POWER BALLS

February 3, 2017 By admin

Foods that have an incredible array of health benefits that go well beyond just their nutrient value are considered “superfoods.” These foods are typically loaded with a combination of critical fatty acids, antioxidant phytonutrients and essential amino acids. The word superfood is a pretty broad description for something, and it can be applied to so many different things from spinach to quinoa, coconut oil to bone broth, but it’s often used specifically to talk about all the different powders that you can add to your snacks and smoothies.

Besides being extremely satisfying and tasty, superfoods also have the ability to boost your energy and the vital force of your body. They are the best choice for overall health, as they boost the immune system, cleanse the body, raise your serotonin levels, and so on. These foods also meet and exceed the proteins, minerals, vitamins, and essential fatty acid requirements for the body. One of the amazing benefits of superfoods is that they help our bodies to get more nutrition whilst eating less.

There are so many of them, but the most common are spirulina, wheatgrass, maca, acai, baobab, camu camu and protein powders like hemp.

None of them are essential in the recipes but they do wonders if you add them in. With increasingly mineral depleted soils they can be a great addition to our daily diet.

These raw superfood power balls may look decadent, but they are packed with natural protein from the nuts/seeds, natural carbohydrates from the dates, antioxidants from the cacao and the superfoods. They are also super simple and fun to make, especially if you choose to roll them in toppings!

Enjoy!
